Nathan & Bernadette

Nathan L. Queener was born April 6, 1957 in Youngstown, Ohio.  He is a 1975 graduate from North High School and entered the U. S. Navy in June of that year.  In 1977 he married Bernadette Marie (Johnson) Queener, also from Youngstown.  Together they  have raised five children, and currently have thirteen grandchildren.

During his twenty-five years of service, Nathan traveled approximately 75% of the world.  Bernadette, who graduated from Youngstown State University at age 18 as a Registered Nurse, and Nathan have lived up and down the east coast of the United States, as well as many parts of the mid-west.  After retiring from the Navy in July of 2000, Nathan earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education (suma cum laude) and Master's of Science Degree in History  (4.0 average) from Youngstown State University.  

Currently, Nathan works at Community Corrections Association Incorporated in Youngstown, Ohio, as the Education Program Manager.  Bernadette has retired from nursing.

Nathan is a Social Historian, which means he concentrates his studies, research, and writings on the working class people who are seldom given voice in history books.  He underscores the fact that it is the "everyday" men and women who move societies forward.

Voting (a brief history) - non-fiction which details the evolution of the vote in the United States

Poor - non-fiction - examination of facts and myths of being poor in the United States

Systems of Governance - non-fiction - an overview of governmental systems, terms, and the structure of the United States' government
